In the upcoming College World Series game against Tennessee, Florida State baseball coach Mike Jarrett is considering starting Jamie Arnold on the mound. During a recent interview, Jarrett discussed his pitching selection and hinted at the importance of selecting the right player for the job.

Florida State secured its spot in Omaha after defeating Virginia 7-3 in an elimination game at the College World Series. The Seminoles will now face off against the loser of the Tennessee-North Carolina game on June 18th at Charles Schwab Stadium. Carson Dorsey put on an impressive performance while pitching for FSU, going into the eighth inning with seven strikeouts.

The two home runs and four RBI by Jaime Ferrer ignited the FSU crowd during their victory over Virginia. Alex Lodise added a solo homer to extend FSU’s lead even further. Despite Virginia out-hitting FSU, they were unable to make a comeback due to an early knee injury suffered by their pitcher Jay Woolfolk, which led to Joe Savino taking over pitching duties.

In the end, Florida State held on for the win thanks to a solid defensive play by Lodise. Peter Holland Jr., who covers FSU athletics for Tallahassee Democrat, can be contacted via email or Twitter for more information about this exciting matchup between two top teams in college baseball.
