In the upcoming matchup at the 2024 College World Series, only one ACC team will remain. Despite being from the same conference, these two teams have not met in the last two seasons.
Both Florida State and North Carolina were among the four ACC teams that had a shot at winning this year’s championship in Omaha. The other two teams were Virginia and NC State. Unfortunately, Virginia and NC State have already been eliminated from the tournament. FSU and UNC each claimed a victory against Virginia but suffered a loss against top-ranked Tennessee.
FSU rebounded from their initial loss to Tennessee by defeating Virginia in an elimination game on Sunday. On the other hand, UNC started their tournament with a walk-off win against UVA before falling to Tennessee on Sunday.
