Florida State’s baseball team has just made history with a 24-4 victory over UConn in the opening Super Regional game. This win secured their spot in Omaha for the College World Series, making them the first team to do so this season. The Seminoles had an impressive performance, sweeping UConn in the NCAA super regionals to advance to the CWS for the first time since 2019.

In Game 1, FSU had a record-breaking day, hitting five home runs and scoring 24 runs. They continued their strong performance in Game 2, with ACC Player of the Year James Tibbs III hitting three home runs in a 10-8 win in 12 innings. The College World Series features eight teams split into two groups of four, playing in a double-elimination tournament format. The winners from each group will advance to the CWS championship series, which is a best-of-3 format to determine the national champion.

The ACC is well-represented in this year’s CWS, with teams like Virginia and North Carolina also competing. The super regionals have seen some exciting matchups, with teams battling it out for a spot in the CWS.
