During a recent breakfast event at the Black Band Distillery in Peoria, five Central Illinois businesses were honored by the Illinois Office of Tourism. These businesses were recognized for their unique and locally produced goods as part of the Illinois Made Program.

The recipients of the awards included Yordy’s Turkey Farm, Four30 Scones, Bear’s Bites, CXT Roasting Company, and George’s Shoe Shine. Among these businesses, Yordy’s Turkey Farm and George’s Shoe Shine stood out for their long-standing operations with over 90 years in business.

Representatives from each business expressed their gratitude as they received their awards. Mitchell Popadziuk from CxT Roasting Company highlighted the importance of supporting local communities and economies through entrepreneurship. Meanwhile, George Manias from George’s Shoe Shine simply invited people to visit his shop when asked for his response.

The awards presented at the breakfast ceremony took the form of colorful plates, symbolizing the recognition and celebration of these uniquely Illinoisan businesses.
