Fisherman’s Wharf business owner Nick Hoppe expressed his disbelief over the lawsuit filed by Herringbone, calling it ridiculous. He has six retail shops and a restaurant in the area and believes that blaming the city for business issues is not right. According to Hoppe, in business, there are wins and losses, and it is important to take responsibility for decisions.

San Francisco officials have commented on the lawsuit filed by Herringbone, stating that the company has tried various tactics to avoid paying the $1.7 million owed in back rent. The City Attorney’s Office plans to review and respond accordingly in court despite not being served with the suit. There is skepticism about the legitimacy of the claims made in the lawsuit.

Both Hoppe and McFarland, another business owner, believe that negative perceptions about Fisherman’s Wharf and San Francisco are exaggerated. Hoppe described the wharf as beautiful and safe, contradicting the negative narrative often portrayed in the media. Despite challenges, they maintain a positive outlook on the area and its potential for success.
