On Wednesday morning, May 29, 2024, firefighters were called to a blaze at a fulfillment center for Fastenal in Upper Macungie Township. The commercial building caught fire around 5:45 a.m., and crews arrived on the scene early in the morning to extinguish the flames. Photos shared on social media showed smoke billowing from the building as firefighters worked tirelessly to contain the fire.

Fastenal is a supply chain solutions company and wholesale distributor, as stated on their website. As of 7 a.m., firefighters were still at the scene trying to control the fire. Route 100 in the area of the fire was closed, according to PennDOT’s traffic website 511pa.com. However, by 9 a.m., township police confirmed that all roads near the business had been reopened.
