In a triumphant return to the top of the podium, Pauline Ferrand-Prevot of France won first place in the XCO short track event on Sunday. Switzerland’s Alessandra Keller secured her first win of the season with a strong performance, followed closely by Ferrand-Prevot in her first World Cup start of the season. USA’s Haley Batten finished third.

Ferrand-Prevot showcased her dominance by finishing a full minute ahead of Batten, who continued her streak of podium finishes by claiming second place. Keller finished in third place, with young Dutch rider Puck Pieterse coming in fourth.

With the Paris 2024 Olympics on the horizon, Ferrand-Prevot’s victory has positioned her as a formidable contender in the mountain biking discipline. As she gears up for her fourth Olympic appearance in the sport, Ferrand-Prevot is determined to make her mark and secure a spot on the podium once again.

After the event, Ferrand-Prevot announced that this would be her final year competing in mountain biking. She expressed her desire to focus on road cycling moving forward and stated that she has achieved everything she wanted in the sport.
