Eric Flom and Synneva Flom, a father-daughter team, are being recognized for their dedication and expertise in working with animals, particularly snakes. As docents at the museum, they play a crucial role in engaging with guests and visitors and taking initiative in various tasks around the center without needing to be asked. They are described as being very willing to help with all types of work, from using tools to providing physical labor when needed.

Their versatility and commitment have made them invaluable members of the science center team. In addition to their regular duties at the center, Eric and Synneva have also participated in road trips to neighboring communities, where they conduct demonstrations and engage with audiences. Their presence during field trip season is especially important, as they help provide individual attention to the large number of guests and visitors that visit the center during this time.
