Recently, I had the opportunity to travel on the TGV Lyria from Paris to Geneva, a high-speed train that can reach speeds of up to 199 mph. Booking in advance allowed me to secure a ticket for a reasonable price, similar to that of a budget flight but often faster. The train is a joint venture between state-owned rail operators of France and Switzerland.

The journey offered scenic views of the countryside along the way, which was one of the highlights. The convenience of boarding and the relaxed atmosphere of the café car were greatly appreciated. Interactions with the friendly staff and fellow passengers added to the overall experience, providing a deeper understanding of the country.

France’s high-speed trains are known to be some of the best in the world, with TGV Lyria being one such example. On my return home to London after a conference in Geneva, I decided to take this train and it was a great decision. Overall, traveling on board the TGV Lyria was a pleasant and enjoyable experience. The combination of speed, comfort, and scenery made it a great way to travel between Paris and Geneva.
