In downtown Fargo, a long-standing fixture, the Zandbroz Variety store, will be shutting its doors for good in the coming week. The store made the announcement on its Facebook page, stating that the last official day of business will be during the week of June 3rd. Everything in the store is currently 40% off and fixtures are also priced to sell.

Despite the closing, customers can still browse through a variety of great backlist titles on the shelves. Josie Danz, whose father Greg co-founded the family business in 1991, stated that the final day of regular business hours will be Wednesday, June 5th.

The closure has been met with mixed emotions from customers who have come in to express gratitude and share memories. Despite this news, it is uncertain whether there will be a new business occupying the property at 420 Broadway in the future.

The closure of Zandbroz Variety marks an end to an era for downtown Fargo. Dave Olson, a reporter for The Forum, covered this story and noted how much impact this closure will have on local businesses and residents alike. However, Josie Danz expressed their gratitude for all of their customers’ support throughout their 33 years in business and hope that they can find a new home soon.
