At a special event in the presence of the heads of the Jewish community in France, the Director General of the Ministry of Immigration and Absorption, Avihai Kahana, and the Deputy Director of the Jewish Agency, Shay Flaver, bid farewell to approximately 300 immigrants who will immigrate from France to Israel this summer. The event took place at the “Center for European Jewry in Paris” where the CEO of the ministry received the list of immigrants who will be making the move.

During the event, Minister Ofir Sofer addressed the gathering and highlighted how excited he was for families who had chosen to immigrate, especially during these challenging times. He also acknowledged that there is growing interest in immigrating to Israel and that his ministry has been working hard to prepare for it. Various initiatives have been put in place to support immigrants as they settle into their new home country. These include rent assistance, an escort system to help with transportation during their first few days, strengthening Hebrew studies programs and other activities designed to make their transition as smooth as possible.

The Direct General of the Ministry Aliyah and Absorption also took a moment to bless those leaving France for Israel and encouraged others to join them on this journey. This annual event provides an opportunity for members of both communities to come together and offer words of support before their loved ones embark on a new chapter in Israel. As they say goodbye, they know that there are many resources available
