Family-owned Home of Economy, with eight stores in North Dakota, is set to be acquired by Runnings, a company based in Marshall, Minnesota. This acquisition will bring Runnings’ total number of locations to 90 across 12 states. Home of Economy, which has been in operation for 85 years and was founded by Bob and Jean Kiesau, is known for its commitment to providing customers with a wide range of products at the lowest prices.

Runnings CEO Scott Pearson emphasized the importance of finding a partner who would continue the legacy of Home of Economy. The president of Runnings, Brian Odegaard, also highlighted the longstanding relationship between the two companies and the synergy between their products and services.

The deal between Runnings and Home of Economy is expected to be finalized in September. Until then, the stores will continue to operate under the Home of Economy name before transitioning to the Runnings brand. Runnings already has a presence in North Dakota with six locations, showcasing a strong connection to the markets served by Home of Economy. Additionally, Runnings also has a store located on Highway 10 in Moorhead.
