The Falcons announced on Thursday that they have released outside linebacker Ade Ogundeji from their roster. Ogundeji was a fifth-round pick by the Falcons in 2021 and made an immediate impact during his rookie season, playing in all but one game. He started 11 games and recorded 33 tackles, two quarterback hits, a sack, a pass breakup, and a fumble recovery.

Unfortunately, Ogundeji suffered a foot injury during training camp last summer, which led to him being placed on injured reserve for the entire 2023 season. With this release, the Falcons’ roster now stands at 89 players, giving them an open spot to potentially fill before the start of the upcoming season.

Ogundeji’s departure marks the end of his time with the Falcons after two seasons with the team. During his time with the Falcons, he played in a total of 27 games and tallied 75 tackles with four sacks.
