During the 2024 offseason, the Atlanta Falcons made a significant investment in their quarterback position, signing Kirk Cousins in free agency. The addition of Cousins was a major win for the team, as they were able to secure a proven signal-caller for the upcoming season.

Meanwhile, other NFL teams were also making changes at quarterback. The Minnesota Vikings, Denver Broncos, Chicago Bears and Pittsburgh Steelers were among the teams that added new quarterbacks to their roster. Additionally, some teams like Buffalo Bills, Arizona Cardinals and Tennessee Titans added new No. 1 wide receivers to their lineup.

CBS Sports’ Jordan Dajani recently ranked the new quarterback-wide receiver duos going into the 2024 season. Cousins and Drake London of the Falcons came in at No. 3 on the list behind Arizona Cardinals duo of Kyler Murray and Marvin Harrison Jr. With Cousins under center, CBS Sports projects London to have a standout season, eclipsing the 1,000-yard mark with 1,297 yards and eight touchdowns on 85 receptions. However, it remains to be seen how targets will be distributed between London and tight end Kyle Pitts who has yet to reach his full potential as an X-factor for the team. Regardless of who emerges as the key playmaker, the Falcons are in a much better position with an established quarterback like Cousins leading them into next season.

The offseason investments at both positions set up Atlanta for success in 2024.
