Gabrielle Cunningham, a varsity track athlete from Falconer/Cassadaga Valley, recently competed in the USATF Niagara Junior Olympics Track Championships at Roberts Wesleyan University in Chili on June 22. Representing the Chautauqua Striders Track Club, Cunningham participated in the high jump, long jump, and 200 meters events. Her impressive results in these events earned her top-five finishes and secured her a spot in the 2024 USATF Region 2 Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships in Jersey City, New Jersey on July 12-14.

Cunningham’s dedication and hard work in training paid off as she excelled in each of the events she competed in. She set a personal best of 1.27 meters in the high jump and tied her personal best of 4.06 meters in the long jump. In addition to these achievements, she also achieved a time of 29.4 seconds in the 200 meters event, demonstrating her versatility and skill as a track athlete.

The upcoming USATF Region 2 Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships will be a new challenge for Cunningham as she faces off against talented athletes from across the region. With her recent success at the USATF Niagara Junior Olympics Track Championships, Cunningham is confident that she can continue to perform well and achieve further success at this higher level competition. Her achievements are a testament to her hard work, dedication, and talent as a track athlete
