On Wednesday, both Derek McInnes of Kilmarnock and Stephen Robinson of St Mirren eagerly await the second qualifying round draws for the Europa and Conference League. Kilmarnock finished fourth in last season’s Scottish Premiership and are unseeded in the Europa League draw, which means they may face tough opponents such as Ajax, Braga, or Rapid Vienna. Other potential teams they could play against include Cercle Brugge, Molde, Rijeka, Trabzponspor and more. If Kilmarnock were to lose their tie, they would drop into the Conference League third qualifying round.

In contrast, St Mirren finished fifth in the Premiership last season and are seeded in the Conference League second qualifying round draw. Possible opponents for them include teams like Brann, Cliftonville, Hacken and St Patrick’s Athletic. Uefa will release reduced groupings on Wednesday morning for the draws, which begin at 12:00 BST for the Europa League and 13:00 BST for the Conference League. The first-leg matches for both Kilmarnock and St Mirren will take place on July 25th with return matches scheduled for August 1st before reaching the group phase. Before reaching their respective competitions’ group phase both teams will have to go through a third qualifying round and a play-off stage. Kilmarnock last participated in European competition in 2019 while St Mirren’s most recent involvement dates back to 1987.
