In recent news, Meta Corporation, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, released a quarterly threat report detailing the discovery and removal of an Israeli propaganda network using artificial intelligence technology to target users in the United States and Canada. This remote network consisted of 510 bot accounts, 11 pages, one Facebook group and 32 Instagram accounts. Despite operating from Israel, the network aimed to influence public opinion in the US and Canada. However, due to its limited followers and engagement, the network was shut down early on.

In addition to this revelation, Meta experts also identified and removed an Iranian network targeting Israeli users. The report highlights the ongoing challenges of combating fake accounts and disinformation on social media platforms.
