During the busy travel period from June 28 to July 8, Denver International Airport will be using face recognition technology for security screenings. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is expecting the holiday week to be the busiest on record, with security workers already screening thousands of people at the airport. The TSA is utilizing face recognition machines that scan government IDs for basic information and boarding details in just 10 seconds, making the process quicker for travelers.

Despite the new technology, common mistakes such as passengers not having their IDs ready or carrying prohibited items in their bags can still cause delays. Lorie Dankers, a spokeswoman for TSA Colorado, emphasizes the importance of arriving at the airport early and being prepared for unexpected delays during busy travel seasons.

With an average of 85,000 passengers per day expected during this peak period, it’s crucial that travelers plan ahead and check their flight status before arriving at Denver International Airport. By being proactive and prepared, passengers can help ensure a smooth and efficient travel experience during this busy time.
