The International Conference for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles is set to take place from June 30th to July 2nd at the Nation Buildings in Jerusalem. The conference will focus on the latest innovations in drones, both in the civilian market and in the military sector, with a particular emphasis on the integration of AI. Security aspects of drone technology in warfare will also be discussed and examined during the event.

Leading experts and practitioners in the field will gather at the conference, including prominent figures such as Yitzhak Ben Israel from Tel Aviv University and Daniela Partam from the Innovation Authority. In an interview with “Maariv,” Partam highlighted the development of a technological-economic and regulatory ecosystem for the drone industry. She spoke about promoting Israeli technologies internationally and preparing infrastructure for a global market.

One of Israel’s most innovative drone projects involves transporting goods using drones, a joint venture between several government agencies and private companies. The goal is to establish infrastructure that enables public and private sectors to use drone technology for various needs, including transportation of medical supplies, food, and potentially even passengers in the future. The project began during the COVID-19 pandemic period when it focused on transporting medical equipment such as coronavirus tests. Since then, Innovation Authority-funded companies have successfully managed large projects in Israel and abroad, including pilot flights for air taxis. Ultimately, the goal is to create an ecosystem that enables local companies to develop advanced drone technologies that will benefit society and optimize various industries reliant on delivery services.
