I was recently given the chance to take JetBlue’s first flight from New York City to Edinburgh. The six-hour journey was an opportunity to experience the airline’s business class “apartment,” known as the “Mint Studio.” This exclusive space had a bench, a cabinet with a mirror, and the largest TV screen I’ve ever seen on an airplane.

Traveling in an apartment-style setting like the Mint Studio is a rare experience, especially on a commercial airline. As I boarded the flight and saw my seat assignment, “1F,” I couldn’t wait to try out this luxurious accommodation. The front row of JetBlue’s business class, the Mint Studio offers passengers a spacious and comfortable flight experience, with prices starting at $4,000. As a member of the press, I was able to secure a discounted rate of $1,300, which included a return flight in the airline’s premium economy section.

While the Mint Studio provided a high level of comfort and luxury during the transatlantic journey, it wasn’t something that I would typically splurge on. Despite its lavish amenities, there are other ways to enjoy a flight without breaking the bank. Overall, my experience in the Mint Studio was one that will stay with me for years to come and it’s definitely an option for those looking for an unforgettable flight experience.
