The Science Mill in Johnson City is hosting Shark Week, a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in learning more about these fascinating creatures this summer. From July 20-21 and July 23-28 (excluding July 22), visitors can take part in STEM-focused, hands-on activities that will teach them everything they need to know about sharks.

During Shark Week, young scientists will have the chance to learn about the ocean’s apex predator, their environmental impact, and careers related to studying and protecting sharks. Highlights of the event include shark and squid dissections, a shark game show, special guest Matt “The Shark Guy” Marchant, sharks on shore, and color-changing squids.

The Science Mill is a museum located in Johnson City that focuses on teaching families about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Since its opening in 2015, the museum has provided STEM programs and interactive exhibits to people of all economic statuses and locations.

Visitors can visit The Science Mill from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday or from noon to 5 p.m., Sunday. To find out what daily activities are happening or to purchase tickets online in advance, check the website or call ahead. Walk-ins are also welcome.
