The Greensboro Science Center is set to embark on its largest project yet, Expedition Rainforest. This state-of-the-art facility will feature the Greensboro Biodome and the Aquatic Rehabilitation and Conservation Center on a sprawling 65,000 square foot site. Over 200 animals from South America, Asia, and Africa will call this new home, along with a diverse range of exotic plants.

Glenn Dobrogosz, Executive Director of the Greensboro Science Center, shared his enthusiasm for Expedition Rainforest, describing it as an oasis of warmth in the heart of Greensboro. This innovative addition will provide visitors with a unique experience in North Carolina and possibly even the country. With construction set to begin in September, the grand opening is expected to take place in September 2026. The Greensboro Science Center can’t wait to welcome guests to this immersive new facility.
