In a recent development, former President Donald Trump’s campaign released a letter from his doctor, Dr. Bruce Aronwald, stating that the president is in “excellent” health and that his cognitive exams were “exceptional.” This announcement comes after Trump, who is 77 years old, made verbal slips that brought his age into the spotlight.
The letter, dated September 13, 2023, reveals that Trump’s cardiovascular studies are all normal and cancer screening tests were negative. Additionally, it states that Trump has reduced his weight. However, the letter does not provide details about the specific types of tests taken or their results. It is worth noting that in 2015, a similar letter was released by Dr. Harold Bornstein, who later claimed that Trump dictated the letter to him.
During his time in office, Trump received a glowing bill of health from Dr. Ronny Jackson, the then-presidential physician. Jackson praised Trump’s health during a briefing to the White House press corps in January 2018. He noted that Trump had “good genes,” did exceptionally well on his cognitive test and had “excellent” cardiac health. According to FEC filings, Aronwald donated to Chris Christie’s 2015 presidential campaign.
