The 2024-25 College Football Playoff (CFP) is set to feature a 12-team field for the first time, with ESPN extending its exclusive contract with the CFP to broadcast nine of the 11 games. Two first-round matchups will be shown on ESPN and ABC, while two afternoon games will be broadcast on TNT Sports, marking Turner’s return to college football broadcasting after nearly two decades.

For the first time, the first-round postseason games will be held at campus sites, with seeds 5-12 competing in the opening round at the location of the higher-ranked seed. Seeds 1-4 will receive a bye and play their first games in the quarterfinals. The 2025 CFP National Championship is scheduled for Jan. 20 at 7:30 p.m. ET at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, while the 2026 title game will take place in Miami Gardens, Florida. Additional sites for future championships have yet to be announced as the CFP transitions to a new television deal in the 2026 season.

The schedule includes first-round games on Dec. 20 and 21, with the quarterfinals set for Dec. 31 and Jan. 1. The semifinal games will take place on Jan. 9 and 10, leading up to the CFP National Championship on Jan. 20
