The Lionesses are preparing for their upcoming Euro 2025 qualifiers against France, and have called up Manchester United defender Maya le Tissier to replace Chelsea full-back Niamh Charles, who is out with a calf injury. Le Tissier was on the standby list but will now join the squad for the first time.

In addition to Charles’ withdrawal, Birmingham City goalkeeper Lucy Thomas has also been called up to the standby list to replace Kayla Rendell, who is out with an ankle injury. This comes after Arsenal centre-back Lotte Wubben-Moy also pulled out of England duty due to a foot injury.

The England squad has arrived at St George’s Park and is currently preparing for their double header against France. They will face France at St James’ Park on Friday 31 May before traveling to Saint Etienne on 4 June. The Lionesses currently have four points from their first two games in Group Three, having drawn 1-1 with Sweden and won 2-0 against the Republic of Ireland. The top two teams in the group will qualify automatically for Euro 2025 in Switzerland, with the other teams entering the play-offs.
