In Wichita Falls, Texas, the Northwest Texas APEX Accelerator Center from Texas Tech recently held an event at MSU’s Dillard College of Business Administration building. The purpose of the event was to educate small businesses on how to connect with government agencies. Several large agencies attended the event with the goal of linking these small businesses with business opportunities in the public sector.

By connecting small businesses with large public agencies and buyers in the local community, local businesses have the opportunity to secure contracts and receive a portion of the funding that these large buyers allocate. This arrangement not only benefits the businesses involved, but also creates a stronger connection between the community and its economic resources.

The program director at Texas Tech spoke about the benefits of this partnership, including simplifying the process of connecting and conducting business with government agencies, which can often appear intimidating for small business owners. By providing resources and facilitating these connections, the Northwest Texas APEX Accelerator Center is working to support the growth and success of local businesses in Wichita Falls.
