The Fred Kiesner Center for Entrepreneurship at Loyola Marymount University will be hosting its second quarterly Family Business Forum on June 28, 2024, at LMU’s Playa Vista Campus. The theme for this event is “Navigating Performance, Accountability, and Culture” in family businesses.
Family businesses play a significant role in the U.S. economy, accounting for 64% of the GDP. These enterprises are crucial to the well-being of families, businesses, and communities alike. To support these businesses through their growth and success, the Kiesner Center offers its Family Business Entrepreneurship Program. This program provides family enterprises with the tools they need to innovate and thrive.
Dr. David Choi, Conrad N. Hilton Chair of Entrepreneurship and director of the Fred Kiesner Center, emphasized the importance of professionalizing and strengthening family businesses during his keynote address at the forum. He noted that building effective advisory boards, recruiting top talent, and fostering a strong organizational culture are all essential components of any successful family business venture.
At this year’s event, panelists such as Andres Terech, Dennis Parnagian, RJ Mayer, Bill Stranberg and Brittany Aldredge will share their expertise on these topics and offer insights on how to achieve these goals within your own family business enterprise. The forum aims to provide participants with valuable knowledge that can help them connect with other family businesses while learning from experts in their field.
The first quarterly forum held in March attracted around 70 participants who were mostly family business owners themselves. This upcoming event promises to be just as insightful as the last one offering attendees an opportunity to learn from industry professionals while connecting with like-minded individuals within their community.
