As a journalist, I have rewritten the following article to make it unique.

For over 50 years, the Callen-Lorde Community Health Center has been a beacon of hope for marginalized communities. Its roots can be traced back to the St. Marks Clinic and the Gay Men’s Health Project, both of which shared Callen-Lorde’s mission to provide care regardless of ability to pay.

In this episode of Managed Care Cast, we had the pleasure of speaking with Patrick McGovern, CEO of Callen-Lorde since August 2023. With a wealth of experience in community health and advocacy, McGovern is passionate about providing equitable healthcare for those who need it most. His career has been dedicated to supporting marginalized communities like Amida Care, Harlem United Community AIDS Center, and Gilead.

During our conversation, McGovern highlighted his personal connection to the work he does at Callen-Lorde. As a gay man himself, he understands the challenges faced by LGBTQ+ individuals and those living with HIV in accessing healthcare. He is committed to providing support and resources for these communities that have often been marginalized and stigmatized.

To learn more about McGovern’s vision for Callen-Lorde and his advocacy work, you can find Managed Care Cast on iTunes, TuneIn, Stitcher, Spotify, and other podcast services.
