The number of subscribers to mobile and fixed telephone services in the Emirates reached 23.81 million at the end of the first quarter of this year, according to recent data from “E&” and “Du”. In the same period last year, “E&” had 14.5 million subscribers in the Emirates, while “Du” had 8.7 million mobile subscribers and 616 thousand fixed-line telephone customers.
In terms of growth, “E&” recorded a remarkable increase of 5% in the first quarter compared to the same period in 2022, with a subscriber base of 13.9 million in mobile services and a total number of fixed-line telephone customers reaching 1.5 million. Meanwhile, “Du” experienced a growth of 5.7% on an annual basis, with a total number of mobile subscribers amounting to 8.2 million and fixed phone service customers reaching 554 thousand.
