To ensure a steady supply of natural gas to homes during the colder months, distributors in Córdoba and Santa Fe have made the difficult decision to interrupt gas sales at CNG stations and restrict its use in industries in both provinces. This move was prompted by technical issues with two compressor plants owned by Transportadora de Gas del Norte (TGN) in San Luis and Chaján, which have affected the normal supply of natural gas in the region.

Andres Romagnoli, Manager of Communication and Institutional Relations at Coast Gas, explained that the gas supplier informed them of the problems with the compressor plants, resulting in challenges in the supply of natural gas. In response, Coast Gas has requested that CNG stations and industries in the area limit their consumption during peak hours to prioritize home consumption and ensure that necessary supplies are maintained.

Ecogas, the distributor in Córdoba, has issued a directive to suspend sales at all CNG dispensers until further notice. This measure is aimed at preserving the availability of natural gas for residential use during peak consumption hours. Failure to comply with this directive may result in fines and penalties for vendors.

In both Córdoba and Santa Fe, distributors are focusing on ensuring that residents have access to natural gas during colder months. By restricting consumption at CNG stations and industries, they hope to navigate through technical issues with TGN’s compressor plants and maintain a steady supply of natural gas for homes.
