Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, has expressed his disappointment with OpenAI’s latest artificial intelligence model, GPT-4o. Musk, who co-founded the company but left in 2018, described the demo of the new AI model as cringe-worthy. The unveiling of GPT-4o drew comparisons to the movie “Her,” with some commenting on its enhanced voice and vision capabilities.

Despite Musk’s criticisms, representatives from OpenAI and Musk did not respond to requests for comment. In addition to launching his own AI company called xAI and an AI-powered chatbot called Grok to compete with ChatGPT, Musk has been involved in a public dispute with OpenAI. He accused the company of bias and expressed concerns about some of its responses.

Musk also mentioned that Grok was undergoing a major upgrade soon. Despite this competition, Axel Springer, the parent company of Business Insider, has a global agreement that allows OpenAI to train its models using content from media brands owned by Axel Springer.
