On Wednesday, July 3, 2024, a significant incident occurred at the Pet Supplies Plus store in Rochester Hills. A car driven by an 81-year-old Rochester man accidentally drove into the building on Walton Boulevard near Livernois Road. The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office reported that the driver mistakenly pressed on the accelerator instead of the brake. Fortunately, no injuries were reported from the accident.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene, including deputies from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office and personnel from the Rochester Hills Fire Department. Building inspectors from the city were also present to assess damage done to the check out counter and store shelves. The car was eventually removed by Byers Towing, and the driver was safely taken home.
