On May 8, 2024, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPCSO) launched an investigation into a series of business burglaries in the 6000 block of Bismark Rd. in an unincorporated area of the county. During the investigation, deputies discovered that one of the businesses had been notified of someone attempting to cash a stolen check.

In response, deputies promptly went to the bank and apprehended 49-year-old Kerry Sherow. Further investigation and interviews with Sherow led deputies to identify 44-year-old Franklin Alexander as the suspect involved in the business burglaries on Bismark Rd. A search warrant was executed at Alexander’s residence, where items related to the burglaries in question were seized. Additionally, items linked to other burglaries in Colorado Springs were also found.

The EPCSO has gathered evidence connecting Alexander to at least 10 other burglaries in El Paso County. He is currently being held at the El Paso County Jail on a $25,000 bond for burglary charges. Kerry Sherow, on the other hand, is being detained on a $2,000 bond for identity theft charges.
