On June 13, over 200 patients at Valleywise Health Medical Center in east Phoenix will be moved to a new hospital facility next door. Dr. Michael White, the Valleywise Health chief clinical officer, has stated that they plan to move all the patients in one day to avoid operating in both facilities simultaneously.

Before the move, the hospital staff is practicing the process to ensure the safety and health of all patients during the transition. Dr. White mentioned that this practice run allows the teams to work through any challenges they may encounter on the moving day.

Arizona’s Family had the opportunity to observe how the hospital plans to move a large number of patients efficiently. During a practice run monitored by crews, the process took about 20 minutes, but with over 200 real patients to move on June 13, they anticipate it taking around 13 hours. Dr. White emphasized the importance of these practice runs to identify any areas of improvement and ensure a smooth process on the day of the move.

On moving day, each patient will have a dedicated team of nurses monitoring their vitals and preparing for emergencies if necessary. The staff is fully committed to making this transition as seamless as possible for their patients and ensuring their well-being throughout the process.
