New polling data reveals that President Joe Biden’s main vulnerability on Election Day may be former President Donald Trump’s potential path to victory, as voters express frustration over the high cost of living. A recent poll conducted by the Swing State Project indicates that 60% of voters disapprove of Biden’s handling of the economy, and a significant 73% of all voters consider the cost of living and inflation to be one of their top three concerns, contradicting Biden’s claims of economic progress from the bottom up.

The Swing State Project, a collaborative effort between the nonpartisan Cook Political Report, Democratic polling firm BSG, and Republican polling firm GS Strategy Group, indicates that Trump currently leads Biden by 47% to 44% across seven swing states. The survey reveals that a majority of voters are evaluating the health of the economy based on different criteria than the Biden administration.

Polling data suggests that voters are more focused on the rising cost of living and persistent inflation rather than traditional markers like federal unemployment or stock market performance. A majority (54%) of respondents believe that the cost of living is the most accurate measure of economic strength, with 51% viewing inflation as the weakest aspect of the economy.
