The victory of India in the T20 World Cup has given them their second title, as they defeated South Africa by 7 runs in a hard-fought contest. This comes at a time when India has faced disappointment in major tournaments such as the World Test Championship and ODI World Cup in the past year.

Despite these recent losses, fans may feel that the Men in Blue have redeemed themselves after losing the 50-over World Cup final to Australia just months ago. However, Coach Rahul Dravid downplayed this narrative and stated that he does not focus on redemption and that there are still players who have not won a trophy.

Following the T20 World Cup victory, Dravid expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to coach the team and praised the players for making it possible. He emphasized that he enjoyed his time working with Rohit and the team, viewing it as a fulfilling journey rather than seeking redemption.

Dravid’s coaching tenure was extended by BCCI until the end of the T20 World Cup, but with India’s victory in the tournament, his job is now complete. The board will now need to seek a replacement for Dravid as they move forward without his guidance.
