On Sunday morning around 8:30 a.m., Jinyan Li, 36, crashed his unregistered 2016 Toyota sedan into the Worldwide Floor Covering store on Business Route 1 North in Lawrence. The accident occurred at the intersection of Business Route 1, where Li allegedly ran a red light and accelerated through the intersection.

His vehicle entered the parking lot of Worldwide Floor Covering and ultimately crashed into the building. Fortunately, Li did not sustain any injuries in the crash. Police were alerted to the accident by multiple 911 calls and arrived at the scene to find the front doors of the business shattered and the vehicle inside the building.

Upon investigating the scene, authorities determined that Li was traveling eastbound on Darrah Lane before the accident occurred. He then proceeded towards the intersection of Business Route 1, where he allegedly ran a red light and accelerated through the intersection. His vehicle entered
