Boston Celtics fans can rejoice as Drake Maye, the New England Patriots rookie quarterback, believes that their beloved team will defeat the Dallas Mavericks in five games to win the 2024 NBA Finals. After a recent OTA practice at Gillette Stadium, Maye spoke to NBC Sports Boston’s The Camera Guys and expressed his confidence in the Celtics’ ability to secure their first NBA Finals win since 1965.

Maye had an exciting encounter with Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum before Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals. He was impressed by Tatum’s talent and expressed his admiration for the forward. Maye also mentioned that one of his brothers played against Tatum during his time at Duke in 2016-17, adding another layer to his appreciation for him.

As the Celtics prepare for the NBA Finals, fans are hopeful that they will bring home another championship. The Finals kick off on Thursday at 8:30 p.m. ET with the Celtics aiming to capture four wins and etch their names into history once again.
