DP World and Mawani Announce Largest Integrated Logistics Zone in Saudi Arabia: A Sustainable Innovation Project Set to Revolutionize Trade Flow Capabilities

The Dubai Ports World Group (DP World) and the Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) have announced a project to build a logistics park affiliated with DP World in the Jeddah Islamic Port. The facility will be the largest integrated logistics zone in the Kingdom, with an area of up to 415 thousand square meters.

The logistics park will include state-of-the-art storage and distribution facilities, with large yards designated for multi-purpose warehouses covering an area of up to 185,000 square meters. It will have 390,000 storage platforms to ensure the smooth flow of customers’ goods to and from Jeddah. The project is scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2025 and will be developed in two phases.

In addition to storage sites, the warehouses will be equipped with a rooftop solar power plant capable of generating 20 megawatts of renewable energy. This project showcases sustainable innovation and environmentally friendly technology. The cooperation between DP World and the Saudi Ports Authority also includes the management of the Southern Container Terminal, with a comprehensive modernization project scheduled to increase container handling capacity.

The announcement of this logistics park project was made by Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman and CEO of DP World Group, and Omar bin Talal Hariri, Chairman of the General Ports Authority in Saudi Arabia. According to Bin Sulayem, “This project represents an important step in our commitment to enhancing trade flow capabilities in Saudi Arabia and beyond.” He also highlighted that this development aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 objectives related to facilitating trade and logistics services for importers and exporters.
