Additionally, Dean Thompson will make his series debut with Sam Hunt Racing and Chase Elliott will return to Xfinity in the Hendrick Motorsports entry.
For NASCAR Cup Series drivers and teams, the Charlotte race weekend holds special significance as they return to the sport’s home track. The weather forecast for the weekend includes partly cloudy skies with a chance of a stray thunderstorm, with temperatures reaching a high of 84 degrees at the start of the Xfinity race and 89 degrees at the start of Cup practice and qualifying.
