Dm Croatia has announced that they will celebrate Giving Friday, a different version of Black Friday, for the sixth year in a row on Friday, November 24. During this event, they will donate five percent of the daily turnover achieved in their 178 stores and in the dm online shop to children and youth without adequate parental care in Osijek and Lipik. Last year’s edition of Giving Friday raised more than 90,000 dm customers who made a donation of 56,688 euros to these centers.
This year’s donation is intended for children and youth without parents or adequate parental care whose housing, development, and well-being are taken care of by the Maestral Community Service Center in Split and the Ruza Petrović Community Service Center from Pula. Giving Friday has always had a special meaning for dm, as head of procurement and marketing department for the Adria region and head of sales region in Croatia Gordana Picek stated. She said that they are grateful to thousands of customers who have supported them in marking a different Black Friday and helped the community selflessly.
To contribute to this amount, citizens are invited to make purchases in dm stores and online on November 24th. With their support, dm will enable the Maestral Community Services Center to complete the reconstruction of the children’s playground, furnish recently renovated apartments owned by the center, and arrange a room for their users to socialize with volunteers. The director of Maestral Community Services Center Jelena Burazin stated that they currently care for over 250 children across ten locations so every donation is important. She thanked everyone who will contribute to this donation by shopping at dm this Black Friday and supporting them in their goal of ensuring a happier upbringing for children and young people.
The Ruža Petrović community service center from Pula is also expanding its accommodation services soon and part of the donated funds will be directed towards equipping new apartments while part will be spent on purchasing new furniture for Children’s Home building in Pula as per press release
