DJI, a renowned manufacturer of drones and cameras, has made an unexpected announcement about venturing into a new sector: electric bikes. At the Eurobike 2024 fair, the company unveiled its new brand of electric mountain bikes, Amflow Bikes. The first model in this line, the Amflow PL, features the innovative DJI Avinox transmission system that allows for control via a smartphone and monitoring of cycling activity.
The Amflow PL is an electric mountain bike that stands out with its powerful 850W motor and lightweight construction, weighing only 19.2 kilograms. Its carbon fiber frame weighs just 2.27 kg, making it agile and high-performing. With the DJI Avinox Drive System integrated into it, the Amflow PL provides an impressive 105 Nm of torque and 250W of rated power while automatically adjusting assistance based on terrain conditions and rider position.
This bike offers various operating modes to cater to different riding scenarios, including a ‘Boost’ mode for easier hill climbing and a ‘Walk’ mode for start-up assistance and preventing rolling back. The Avinox system offers two battery options, with the larger capacity battery allowing for quick charging times. The bike also boasts a FOX-optimized rear shock that provides excellent performance on rough terrains, compatibility with different wheel sizes, and an advanced touchscreen for easy adjustment of settings.
The DJI app for the Amflow PL allows users to customize power levels, torque levels, cadence settings as well as anti-theft and remote location functions. It will be available in select markets during the fourth quarter of 2024 at yet to be announced prices locally.
DJI’s entry into the electric bike market is expected to bring innovative technology and high performance to cycling enthusiasts worldwide.
