Inspired by Ann Marie’s struggle with hyperpigmentation and lighter skin patches, she and Mike embarked on a mission to find a solution. After months of research and testing, they discovered malassezin – a potent antioxidant that is ten times more powerful than Vitamin C. This breakthrough ingredient set Mother Science apart from its competitors and paved the way for the brand’s launch.
Mother Science launched one year ago with its flagship product, The Molecular Hero Serum. Recently, the brand added another product to its lineup – the Retinol Synergist. The couple stopped by Billboard News to discuss their revolutionary discovery and how they see it transforming the future of skincare.
Ann Marie and Mike shared their excitement about how their products have already made a difference in people’s lives and how they are making waves in the industry. They joked about how throughout the process of developing these products and launching their brand, Mike would often wake Ann Marie up in the middle of the night with a new discovery or idea. They said that curiosity has always been at the heart of both their scientific pursuits as well as their music careers – Mike co-founded Incubus while Ann Marie is an accomplished violinist who has collaborated with Hans Zimmer on several scores including Interstellar, The Little Prince, and more.
