Educator Allie Eubanks, of the Beulah Academy of Science FFA Chapter, recently hosted their Inaugural “Future Farmer Field Day” advocacy day program. The goal was to raise awareness about various industries and agricultural production in the local area. The event attracted fourth grade students from Cordova Park Elementary, local homeschool cooperatives, and incoming fifth graders from eight different elementary schools.
The BAS FFA set up almost 20 different vendor booths to educate attendees about agriculture. These booths included organizations such as the Florida Forest Service, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Escambia County Extension Office, Primus Auditing Service (food inspector), Three Sisters Homestead, local farmers, and embryologists. The event was a success, and Eubanks expressed her gratitude to everyone involved in making it happen.
Looking ahead, BAS FFA is excited to continue hosting the “Future Farmer Field Day” program in the future and hopes to see even more participation next year. For a photo gallery of the event, visit the website.
