The Mississippi Museum of Natural Science, a department under the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks, is hosting an exhibit titled “Dinosaurs Around the World: The Great Outdoors” from June 8 through January 5, 2025. This exhibit features 11 animatronic dinosaurs and cutting-edge research, giving visitors a glimpse into the Age of Reptiles.
Guests will be transported back in time to explore a world vastly different from our own. They will see animatronics such as the mighty T. rex of North America, the bi-pedal predator Herrerasaurus, and the bony-crested Oviraptor from Mongolia. Tom Zaller, president and CEO of Imagine Exhibitions, producer of the exhibit, describes it as a playful and educational exploration of the unrecognizable landscape of Pangea.
Visitors will be able to experience special weekly dinosaur-themed “Fun Fridays” from 10 a.m. until noon, running from June 7 to July 12. Additionally, a “Tea Party with a T-Rex” will take place on November 16. Museum Director Charles Knight invites guests to come face-to-face with these giants of the past and experience a prehistoric Earth alongside the dinosaurs, promising a thrilling adventure suitable for all ages.
The Mississippi Museum of Natural Science is located at 2148 Riverside Drive in Jackson within LeFleur’s Bluff State Park. Admission prices are $8 for adults, $6 for youth ages 3-18, and $7 for senior citizens ages 60 and up. For more information or to plan your visit
