The Department of Health and Human Services has announced that it will be awarding two grants of $1 million each for fiscal year 2024. One grant is intended for projects in the field of artificial intelligence in health care, while the other is focused on the use of information technology in behavioral health.

The AI grant aims to develop solutions that can improve the quality of health care data found in electronic health records. These solutions will be used by AI tools to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of health care delivery. On the other hand, the behavioral health grant supports projects that aim to pilot lightweight solutions to improve IT capabilities in behavioral health settings. These projects will also focus on enhancing care coordination between behavioral health providers and clinical healthcare settings to ensure holistic and seamless care for patients in need.
