This offseason, Receiver DeVante Parker retired from the NFL after signing a one-year, $1.2 million deal with the Eagles. In a statement to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Parker expressed his eagerness to spend quality time with his four kids as the reason for his retirement. At 31 years old, Parker had an impressive nine-season career in the NFL after being drafted 14th overall by the Dolphins in 2015.
Parker spent seven seasons with Miami and two with New England, amassing 369 catches for 5,266 yards and 27 touchdowns throughout his career. When asked about his future plans, Parker mentioned that he would take things slowly. Despite his retirement announcement, it’s likely that we will see more of DeVante Parker in the future as he continues to prioritize spending time with his family.
