Deloitte has recently acquired CasePointer, a disease surveillance business, as part of its efforts to expand its public health transformation services. The acquisition follows Deloitte’s previous purchase of Gryphon Scientific in April, a company specializing in using artificial intelligence and data to combat infectious diseases.

CasePointer, developed by End Point in 2008, was created to provide open source software to assist public health agencies in managing epidemiological data. Now integrated into Deloitte, the CasePointer team will collaborate with clients to address their modernization and surveillance requirements. The specifics of the deal have not been disclosed.

As part of these investments, Deloitte has been expanding its generative artificial intelligence tools for health and human services agencies. The firm aims to assist state and local government clients in enhancing the delivery of benefits and services to citizens. Jason Salzetti, leader of Deloitte’s government and public services practice, emphasized how the acquisition of CasePointer aligns with the firm’s ongoing investments and expansion into new markets.
