London Simmons, a talented high school defensive tackle from Flowood, Mississippi, recently committed to the University of Alabama after an official visit to Tuscaloosa. Simmons, who attends Hartfield Academy, was initially hesitant about committing to any school but ultimately decided on Alabama after being impressed by the university’s commitment to excellence in football and the welcoming atmosphere he experienced during his visit.

Prior to his visit to Alabama, Simmons had also considered offers from N.C. State and was weighing his options between Arkansas and Florida State. However, the connection he felt with Alabama’s defensive line coach, Freddie Roach, played a significant role in his decision to choose the Crimson Tide over other schools.

During his visit to Alabama, Simmons was struck by the high standard of football at the university and was impressed by the experiences of current players he met with. Talking with them solidified his decision to commit to Alabama and he did so midway through June.

Simmons is a 6-foot-3 and 290 pound recruit who has already received an offer from Alabama this off-season. His recruitment journey has been significantly impacted by the interest shown in him by the Crimson Tide and he is excited about joining their team next year.
