Aric Almirola will return to Sonoma Raceway for the second year in a row to defend his victory in the NASCAR Xfinity Series’ inaugural race at the Northern California road course. The past nine races of the season have seen different winners, with Shane van Gisbergen being the latest to extend this streak with his win at Portland International Raceway.
The Xfinity race at Sonoma Raceway will take place on Saturday, with details including the start time at 8:08 p.m. Eastern, and the green flag expected to wave at 8:20 p.m. Pre-race events include the opening of the garage at 11 a.m., qualifying at 3:30 p.m., driver introductions at 7:35 p.m., the invocation at 8 p.m., and the national anthem at 8:01 p.m. The race will consist of 79 laps (156.95 miles) on the 1.99-mile road course, with Stage 1 ending at Lap 20 and Stage 2 at Lap 45.
